With wedding season right around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about those small details that can add so much personality to your wedding.

Everyone knows you need a save-the-date and an invitation, but what you may not realize is that there are a ton of additional printed items you can take advantage of, even on a small budget. We’ve put together a variety of unique examples that will take your wedding to a whole new level!

We’ve put together a variety of unique examples that will take your wedding to a whole new level! Beautiful Wedding Invites and Stationary

In the above Jenson-Baker wedding, this couple created eight different pieces that tied their entire wedding together. They started with the save the date and a matching envelope. A few months later they set out a coordinating wedding invitation with matching envelope. This also included a small postcard for the RSVP card. (No need to put this in an envelope. This will save you the cost to print the envelopes, plus you can get a break on postage by mailing it as a postcard.)

While at the wedding, each guest received a wedding program and when they got to the reception, the guests had a little place card with their names on it. The cards were printed with the design and then each name was hand written for that personal touch. After the wedding was over, the couple sent out a personalized thank you card that included a photo from their wedding.

Another example of wedding pieces was done for a couple named Emily & Joel. They did their save the date and invite with us, but also added a few other fun pieces. At the reception, they had business-card size cards sitting at each person’s place setting, asking everyone to give a little advice for the bride and groom. When cocktails were ordered, guests received square, silk card to use as coasters. And lastly, for the guest gift, each person received a mini bottle of wine. The couple printed white BOPP labels to go on each bottle, making it a little more personal.

Custom Wedding Stationary Design

Another idea, that I thought was clever, is that during an engagement party, Stefan & Reshma asked each of their guests to suggest a honeymoon location. They printed the below hangtags and had a large map of the world hung on the wall. Each guest wrote down their suggestion and then hung the tag, with pushpins, to the map. So much fun!

Uses of Hang tags at a wedding.

Creative Idea:

  • Hangtags are great to tie on to your guest gift, whatever it may be. Put a little “thank you for coming” message on there with your names and the event date.
  • Need directionals? Or just fun signs as guests drive in? Don’t forget about yard signs. You can purchase quantities as small as one sign and they come with the stakes to inset into the ground.
  • Step and Repeat banners are a great way to get your guests taking photos and creating memories. Print your names repeatedly (like a special even step & repeat) or create a nice photo backdrop. Either way, your guest will be excited to take their photos and remember this great event.
  • Do you have a hashtag or wedding social media page? Create a small card that directs your guest to your social pages so they can share all their photos with you. For hashtag inspiration, take a look at the blog by The Knot: 20 Creative Ways to Display Your Wedding Hashtag.

When designing these pieces, one thing to keep in mind is that each piece should represent you and your theme. From the save-the-date all the way to the final thank you card, they should all coordinate and express your theme. Before starting your save-the-date, really put some time and thought into your colors and feel of the wedding. Not only will the guests notice these special touches, but they’ll make a wonderful keepsake for you to remember your special day.

For a lot of people, the wedding day is considered one of the most important days of their lives. A wedding invitation needs to display the importance of this special day! An invitation should be able to display brief information about the new couple and what guests can expect during the wedding, such as theme and colors.

Below we have some suggestions to make sure your invitation design is perfect for your special day.

Describe the Style of Wedding

When designing a wedding invitation, this is a great opportunity to offer a “glimpse” of the wedding style or theme to your guests. Additionally, the invitation will include all the important information such as the guest’s name, time and date of event and venue. This opportunity allows your guests to get an idea of what the day will be and dress appropriately. Similar to the wedding day, you want your invitation to be perfect and fit your style.

Selecting the Colors

When planning a wedding, a few colors are chosen during the set-up. These colors often carry through the design process of the wedding invitations, programs, meal menus, bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen attire, and even the decorations of the ceremony. Keep in mind, it may be difficult to select colors, and it’s important to select colors that are appealing. Suggestions include a light paper stock (natural paper) with a classic dark font, rustic and beautiful kraft paper or an elegant stock such as pearl metallic.

Sizes and Printing Options

This is great opportunity for couples to show their creativity. At Printsocial, we offer a variety of printing options including glossy coated, gloss laminated, silk laminated, velvet laminated and even our 32PT thick ModCard in a large selection of sizes.

Make Sure it’s Legible

It can be easy to select fonts that are different than standard fonts for the invitation. You don’t want to create a beautiful design that guests are unable to read and understand. You’ll want to select fonts that are easy to read such as Serif Fonts and others including Ever After, Birmingham, Archistico and others. Our graphic designer can help select the appropriate font for your design.

Look it Over

Before sending off to print, make sure you take time to review the invitation. It can be helpful to have others look over it as well. The last thing you want is a wrong venue address, a spelling mistake or other mistakes that may be embarrassing.

Once you have returned from the honeymoon, it’s time to think about writing your thank-you cards. Our premium postcards make great thank-you cards. It can be difficult to get started on this task, for good reason.  It’s time consuming, so below we listed some helpful tips.

Don’t Procrastinate

Yes, we have all heard that the etiquette allows a full year for you to send them out in the mail, but don’t stick to that. Make some time as they serve as an expression of gratitude, and additionally they confirm you received the gift. Think about who you’ll need to send the thank-you cards to first. Everyone has a family member or friend that can get a little anxious about whether their wedding gift was received. So, work on those notes first. Make a goal for yourself. Determine how many you would like to complete and work towards that number. Check out The Knot blog 10 Wedding Invitation Etiquette Questions Answered for additional important information.

Ask for Help

As we mentioned above, sending out thank-you notes can be overwhelming. Enlist your husband! He can help by writing a few of them as well. Even if you may have better hand-writing, receiving help can do wonders. If writing isn’t his thing, he can still help by placing stamps on the envelopes and even organize your list as you go. By both of you working on them, you may even have some fun!

Traditionally, save-the-date cards lists the bride and groom’s name, date of the wedding and the location of the ceremony. This information can help guests to make travel plans, weigh the expenses of the trip and take off work if necessary.

Save-the-date cards are more than just information; they often coincide with the wedding theme and color scheme. Additionally, the design can allow the bride and groom to express what type of wedding ceremony and reception will occur.

Designing a Save-the-date Card

Save-the-date cards are great for keeping friends and family in the loop. Have fun with the design. You’ll want to create a save-the-date that gets a little attention and sets the tone for the wedding weekend.Have fun with the design. You’ll want to create a save-the-date that gets a little attention and sets the tone for the wedding weekend. Is the wedding being held at a beach resort? Try to include fun beach colors or include flip flops and sand into the design. Also, you can include fun facts about the resort and even include events that guest may be interested in during the wedding weekend.

If you want a more traditional save-the-date, you can always add shimmer by selecting our pearl metallic paper stock and include the wedding colors. The save-the-date is a great way for you to introduce wedding colors.

Save-the-Date Information

As mentioned above, the primary information should include the names of the bride and groom, wedding location and the date. Some wedding couples mail the cards with a preliminary RSVP to get an idea of the number of those possibly attending. Because they are sent out before any wedding plans have been finalized, the numbers may be inaccurate.

Additional information can include a brief descriptions of the wedding events such as bride/groom welcome breakfast, rehearsal dinner and send off breakfast or brunch. It’s best not to include registry information or information about events that are for a selective group.

Although baby announcements are something people will expect from you, making them doesn’t have to be a challenge. In fact, designing them can be extremely fun for new parents. This is where as a new parent, you get to brag a bit. You get to indulge your pride in your little bundle of joy. There is no reason to not give baby announcements the custom treatment.

Baby Announcement Design Tips

The Color Pink

Pink is the shorthand way to signal “It’s a girl!” This can leave some people feeling stymied as to how to be creative when the color scheme has been predetermined. However, there is no reason to feel boxed in. Not only are there multiple shades of pink, there are endless other colors available for creating a custom design scheme. For example, selecting fuchsia with white will be dramatically different from a soft pink with black.

Backgrounds

Color can be exciting, but there are other important details to look into when designing an announcement.  Should you include a textured background or use background patterns, such as stripes or polka dots? Often times, a baby photo can be used as the background. It adds a nice touch to the design.

The Importance of Lettering

Selecting the right font has a significant impact on the design. Possibilities including varying the font style, playing with the font size and using a monogram as the initial letter. Play around with the different fonts and colors to determine which looks best with the rest of the design. Choosing a silver or gold color for the fonts can look especially striking.

Other Detail Options

You can add some pizazz by including accents, such as dividers, symbols, or stylized borders. Such details can also be used to highlight key information such as your baby girl’s name and weight. Use of strong contrast or unexpected color combinations can be fun and add character to the design.

Don’t forget that friends and family will treat the baby announcement as a keepsake. Design it with that fact in mind. Because some may want to keep them as a memento of this special occasion, it is important to have them made with premium paper or card stock.

At Printsocial, we offer a variety of printing options for your custom baby announcement that will result in the highest quality print. You’ll be proud of the design years later when showing off the family scrapbook to family and friends. Some of our printing options include Glossy UV Coated, Velvet Laminated, Silk Laminated, natural, Uncoated and Pearl Metallic.
