Are you a business that is looking for a way to spread the word about a service, promotion or product? Designing a custom yard signs can do the trick.

Are you a business that is looking for a way to spread the word about a service, promotion or product? If so, you may want to look into them as they can be great for advertising. There are a number of strategies to utilize when designing a great yard sign.

They’re extremely functional, as you can use them as realtor signs, political signs, garage sale signs, birth announcements, and more.

The opportunities are endless. We offer two types of signs, either 4mm coroplast or a thicker 10mm coroplast. Both are printed in full color, double or single sided. Below are a few tips to keep in mind when creating a design for your yard sign.

The Message

Keep the message short and to the point. You’ll want passerby’s to easily read your signs. If  the message is long, there’s a great chance the drivers will be unable to read the entire message. A general rule is to keep the message down to two lines if possible. If you are unable to convey a message in five words, it’s best to select a different layout or message.

Include a Call-to-Action

You’ll want potential customers and prospects to take action by reading the custom signs. This can be done by including an effective call-to-action or CTA. Tell the customer specifically what you want them to do once they finished reading the content of the sign. As an example, you may want the driver to call to receive additional information or have them visit a website for further information about a product or service.

Font Size

In the creative process, make sure it’s readable. This can be overlooked easily when creating a custom yard sign. If a car is traveling at 35 MPH, a 9” high letter is often too small to read. Rule of thumb: If you think the lettering is too big, it’s probably perfect!  Use simple fonts such as Helvetica and make them bold so they can stand out.

In the design process, character spacing is important. Stay away from adding a lot of colors because they can clash with each other.  Choosing dark lettering on a light background is normally a good match.

Our coroplast signs are weather proof, water proof and resistant to most chemicals and stains. If you have questions or concerns about creating a custom yard sign, feel free to contact us here.
